Gold Digger

Call me a gold digger. That's what I am.

I couldn't care less about your money.

All I want is your heart of gold.

I feel tears coming, about to overflow my dam.

I keep looking for your love like pooh looks for honey.

But to me, you've become so cold.

Somewhere, You've frozen to the bone.

Somehow, you've lost all you loved about me.

Someday, I hope you find everything you lost.

I feel like I should become the crazy cat lady, just so I don't die alone.

I can't make myself stop thinking about what we use to be

I wish I could wake you up. Hit the defrost.

I can usually find something to distract me.

I can usually make myself turn away.

But I can't ever find a way to make myself stop loving you.

Tonight, the memories of us won't let me free.

Tonight, the love in my heart urges me to stay.

Tonight, reality strikes again and tells me what I know is true.

You said forever, you said for always.

You said Til the very end.

But why did forever come so soon?

I called out for you, and you always came 'til today.

You broke your promises, but for you, I'd still defend.

I'll love you through a monsoon.

I'll remember you when you don't remember me.

I'll love you when you hate me.

I'll find you when you find yourself lost.

I'll see the hurt you don't think anyone will see.

I'll find the love you hide away.

I'll help you out, and you'll never have to pay a cost.

I'm digging for gold,

but never green.

My wish is for your golden heart.

I'll play 'til the end and never fold.

I'm sorry for the way I was so mean.

You were the one I wanted from the start.

Now i'm wishing I wouldn't have let go.

It's still stinging like a bee-hive.

No one said goodbye would come with ease.

Good-bye is no sweet sorrow.

This pain that I refuse to show.

It's eating me alive.

All I want to do is beg for you, please!

The worst is, It won't get any easier tomorrow.

I miss your smile.

I miss your laugh.

I miss your hand in mine.

Yes, it's been awhile

The way you love is art, a craft.

I could say I'm fine, but it'd just be a line.

I use to tell you everything.

Now it's bottled up,

If you only knew, if you only cared.

I never wanted a casual fling.

I never wanted the volcano to erupt.

It's one thing to hate you, but I can't, and i'm scared.

It drives me crazy to see you.

It makes me mad to have lost you.

It makes me cry to miss you like I do.

I miss you like I miss the words of a song.

I miss you like a child misses their blanket.

I miss you like an old friend I never forgot.

I hate the game, but play along.

I hate the game, but fake it.

I hate the game, but the player, I sought.

Will this hurting in my chest ever stop?

Will I ever push you out of my heart?

Will I ever be enough for you?

I'll come out on top,

I'll buy a new one, shopping cart.

I'll find some else, brand new.

My head tries to comfort me,

Good luck with that, I know the truth.

I spend my days yelling at myself like a looney-bird.

In my head this is what I see,

Us sitting at a table, even though I wanted a booth.

Remembering I was in love, completely assured.

I can't say I don't cry.

I can't say I don't miss you.

I can't say that I'll ever be over it.

I can say those tears will dry.

I can say those feelings will never do.

I can say that one day those feeling will finally sit.

I'm a gold digger, yes it's true.

I'm digging deep.

I don't want red or blue or green.

I'm looking for the gold in you.

You're the one I want to be lying next to when I sleep.

Your heart shines the brightest I ever seen

I believe in trust.

I believe in love.

It will never rust.

It will always push and shove.

I'm a gold digger, yes it's true.

I'm a gold digger, looking at you.
