Gold or Cold

When eyes sit down on darkness’ sand

and ears stand still to nature’s sound

Life sticks out its head

with sense like a headband

embroidered with truth’s hand.

Silence is not the lack of sound

but an awareness of what’s around.

One way is to see with one’s mind

what not to grasp with one’s hand.

It’s like being blind with a blindfold.

You learn to find your way around

by tapping and listening to sound.

While losses may seem like a wold

keep going and you shall behold

Accidents and losses that hound.

Happenings are neither new or old

if one knew when to draw or hold.

Good and bad make up the world

but it’s up to us to stay in the cold

or earn our own share of gold.

One man’s lifetime worth of gold

is another’s coal for a night’s cold

Depth in thought isn’t for the bold

just as wisdom isn’t always foretold.

So let your mind show you around.

Scrape your mind from molds

to contemplate reality’s trolled

by whims you were once sold-

to embrace clarity’s ice-cold-

body and let freedom unfold!

Author’s Notes:

Contemplation is the art of meditation with the clarity of blindness using a blindfold. It allows you to take a step back into your first stage of learning: perception by setting judgment aside. It offers you a freedom and sense of balance you can't buy or learn but you can experience on your own and at your own risk.

CNQT

Poetry is a form of passionate expression kindled by an impression unbound by public conviction. I write mainly from two genres : impressionism and symbolism. Choose me or leave me, I'm not a backup plan and definitely not a second choice! Not everyone likes me but then again not everyone matters. What matters is peace and the feeling of being content. Every person is a book, this is just the place to share some pages from my book. Peace!
