Gold over Love

Distance is the first thing I realized when I couldn't hold you closer. It's what made me realize all that I'd given up… A chance to be happy. Something that can't be bought. All the mountains and rivers were put in place so we could overcome them, but instead I ran away. Days pass by as I reminisce about how close you held me while I baked your favorite cookies. Mistakes were made, and words were screamed. Those memories never cease to end. Racing through my head like cars on a track, but I know why you kept your distance. How could you love a leprechaun who's always chasing the gold, instead of a woman chasing your heart?
