Golden

Dear Boy, I Met One July,

Remember that time,

When we lay there.

Watching the last embers of the last flames of the sky

Flicker out before us.

Honey and forget-me-not eyes entranced as the moon rose,

Casting a lantern glow over your face.

Entire galaxies being formed above us-

Entire galaxies constellated over your forehead,

Traversing your cheeks,

Dusting the bridge of your nose.

Remember when we lay on the lawn,

The winds caressing our arms and legs,

The tall summer grass tickling our toes

And weaving through your champagne hair.

Sounds of merriment and violins drifted from across the yard

And we filled our lungs with sweet, magnolia-scented life.
