Golden Cocoon

Along the rugged path of life, obsticles appear with vengence.

Courageous confidence carries me through.

Conquering the gateway to my future, it appears that nothing may slow my momentum down.

By my side I grasp friends ever so dear.

These friends act as my golden-cocoon,

Allowing me to enter in diminished and weak and leave strong and confident.

However, nothing is ever as great as it may seem.

Along every turn, in every decision, there lay conjuring consequences.

The demons that lurk and attempt to slow me down.

They are energy-vampires,

Hiding in wait to feed on myself or the ones I love.

Faithful friends sometimes cannot help fight these demons.

I have learned that independence and dependence on others comes in moderation.

As these creatures attempt to control my mind, only I can save myself.

Momentum-stoppers do not slow me down,

In fact, it only pushes me to beat the beasts of life.

With every scar, I grow stronger and stronger until these delinquent demons cease to exist.

No matter what life may throw my way,

My supporting cast, strong courage and confidence allows me no choice but to build.
