The Golden Drum
Loud, echoey sounds coming from every which way.
A high pitched noise that reverbs throughout the day.
Hours and hours go by, continuing to make progress.
Each day, having more success.
We perform for many different audiences, never failing to make the crowd cheer with a “yay.”
But for people who have never seen us, they may ask, “who are they?”
Trials and errors through each rehearsal, with wrong rhythms and notes.
At the end of the day we improve, and sit in a circle with a close.
The experience is unforgettable, as anyone in the group will tell you.
The hard work, headaches, tears, sweat, and soreness is all worth it.
Going in the gym everyday feeling the sense of determination never gets old,
And seeing those drums is like seeing gold.
