The Golden Gateway

I don't cry much

because I always have this hunch

That one day

I will pay,

For all that I have gotten,

I'm always telling her "No, I have not forgotten",

To thank the people

At the steeple

For that day

They opened my airway

And let me play.

Just because I do not smile

Does not mean I have a bad lifestyle,

It's just that I know someday

My mother will see the golden gateway

And I pray that she will be sitting under a peachtree

All while filling with glee

However, selfishly, that is the day I don't want to see.
