"Golden Leaves"

[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"25886","attributes":{"alt":"","class":"media-image","height":"360","typeof":"foaf:Image","width":"480"}}]]

Golden leaves falling
bitter snow covers the ground
hiding the remnants of the past

A rude awakening in a seemingly perfect world
that chills the body and the soul making it unmalleable to emotion.

A diamond in the rough amidst the rocks and thorns
which reveals itself in due season
golden leaves transform our surroundings.

Golden leaves dancing elegantly in the wind,
eventually frolic upon the twigs and branches
like the strings upon David’s harp,
which are handled with care.

Their music in unison echoes through the night,
pervading its silence
chanting a melody of sweet serenity.

Golden leaves scattered on the ground are reminiscent of a simpler time.
A blessing in disguise, as the create a picturesque display
let their beauty live forevermore.

May the hands of man preserve their song for eternity.
Golden leaves a sign of endurance, change, and longevity
for ages to come just blowing in the wind to be carried
to those who need them most.

RebelPoet

A small town New England poet from CT. I like figuring out ways to make words work. Suppose you could call me a Rebel Poet. I write about your standard themes in different ways. I also write about experiences, changes, etc. I'd like it if you'd read what I post and leave constructive criticism. I don't consider debates constructive or conducive to writing, though.
