Golden Leaves

When I was a child

I heard voices

whispering beneath

a white willow tree

All I had was a memory

a wild beast

never kept on a leash

I straighten my hair

you straighten your tie

it's your city

it's my sea

I drink my wine

you say your line

call me from the cold

when I'm still burning

my embers white gold

Before my eyes

my path unfolds

I leave in disguise

invisible to see

and impossible to follow

Golden leaves

a wild fortune in a decade

that drifted away

how coud I never know

the glint in your eyes

were really my coins?
