The Golden Liquid
The Golden Liquid.
The deceptively alluring foam rises above the ridges of the bottle.
You think it’s your only salvation when the depression hits.
You think it’s the only way out as those demons rip through your body,
To those creatures wrecking your sanity and clouding your consciousness.
It’s Koheleth’s emancipation from the Devil’s clutches.
A few drops of the stuff send you off to the gates of the Garden of Eden.
The succulent mix of malty and fruity leaves you tranquilized… blissful…
But is it really salvation?
You don’t think about it.
You just sip.
Sip.
Sip.
You taste the warm grit flowing down your esophagus, filling your body with happiness and euphoria.
It settles down in your stomach.
The devil has been slain inside your stomach. The depression has been vanquished.
But Lucifer comes back, jamming a pitchfork into your thalamus
And all you want to do is consume the liquid of life to relieve the mental lacerations
You drink.
Drink.
Drink.
But still, Beelzebub returns.
And then you realize that the alcohol isn’t the antidote to Satan’s assailment.
The alcohol is Gula and Avaratia, condensed into fluid form.
The foam rising above the mouth of the bottle is Diablo asking you to come into his lair.
The golden liquid is the essence of Satan, contained inside a green glass bottle.
It is the song of Satan, sucking you into his dark, twisted purgatory.
It is Satan.
And he's still calling for you.
