gone

where is it?

my fingers curl around where it should be

palms dripping with sweat, red and shaking

it belongs there

so where is it?

i know everything about it

every break in its gentle light

every wrinkle on it's soft face

every tear on it's kind cheeks

where is it?

what have i become that i have lost it?

that i am reduced to shivering rubble without its comforting grip?

where is it?

and where are you, to extend it to me?
