Gone

You are gone. Gone from this earth, Gone from this song. Gone like tide; As it pulls back, Bringing with it any memory of the shore. Gone like the wind, After it blows through my hair, Through the leaves, And across the sea, Where does it go? Does move on? On into the distance, Not here, But not there. Does it linger? Does it linger like a cool breeze on a hot summer day? Wanting to go far away, Yet not knowing keeps it trapped. Does it stop? Like your heart. Here one minute, Gone the next. Pushing strong through the clouds, Fighting strong to hang on, To any piece of life left. And then gone.
