Gone

I saw a light,

Shine so bright.

I knew t’would remain

I knew there’d be no pain.

Days came and went

Some not well spent.

The light shone on,

T’was not gone,

And so I journeyed on.

My friendship died,

The true love cried.

My money spent,

Reputational dent.

The light shone on,

T’was not gone,

And so I journeyed on.

The strongest blow,

Came from below.

While sitting all alone,

A chime rose from a phone.

The message came,

T’want a game.

The girl I love died,

I thought they lied.

But then I cried.

I know that she is gone.

The light was dim,

The future grim,

But, slow, I journeyed on.

The light dimmed more,

More than before.

Till out it snuffed,

A candle in wind so rough.

No longer was there hope.

Life, impossible to cope.

Life, without a cause.

Life, without happy pause.

The purpose gone,

To

write

the

last

song.

Gone.
