gone

he's been gone for days,

lost in his nightmare,

screaming, crying, begging in his sleep

for someone to fix him, fix him please

she sits by his bed,

tears flowing from her eyes,

shaking him,

trying to bring him back to life

"wake up," she pleads.

"please wake up."

but he doesn't move, doesn't stir,

doesn't open his eyes

he can't hear her,

he won't let her wake him up
