Gone

Fathers are like mountians, so big and so strong
that no one thinks that anything could harm them
you worked all day
came in late at night
saw you very little,
but always knew you were there
but now you are
gone.
.
you left so quickly
didn’t even pack a bag
but where would one fit
where you were going?
there was no time
to even say goodbye
then you were
gone.
.
doctors have no feeling
when breaking the news
of the death of a loved one
to a young child.
they entered the room
and turned to me and mom
and said a few words
and then you were
gone.
