Gone But Never Forgotten

Baby girl was always far away from me

Due to the fact that she wasn't biologically mine

I fell in love with her mother from a state or two away

But that never stopped with how much my love from them grew

My baby girl got sicker and sicker as time went by

But even from a far

I stayed by her side

Making sure to keep her head up

To make sure she was taken care of

About a week after my 21st birthday

I was told that my baby girl passed away

Before I ever got to meet her face to face

To hold her hand

To see her smile

now 8 months later

Things are still tough but getting better

At nights I see a flash

And I know thats my baby girl

When I feel a cool breeze across my back

And my heart leap as if I've been running

I know who is there

My baby girl spends time by my side

To let me know that she forgives me 

To let me know that she loves me

Even though I was her long distance mother

And our paths weren't able to cross

Before it was her time to go

Now that she's gone

I can look at the positive side

Even when I am crying

Because I know that my baby girl
