gone in the night
vision in a blur, words start to slur, thoughts running through my head as i sit upon this curb, then i see the colors of freedom and a woman focuses into sight, she asks" how many have you had?", i said "?one maybe two", my memory's kinda fading, but can i bum a ride from you? she said " sure why not" and we hoped up in the car, she let the roof down and i stared up into the stars.
wondering hopelessly trying to find my way home, she says she has to go, boyfriend blowing up her phone, i ask " just stay a bit longer, don't leave me out in cold", she looks at me and smiles and hits the power on her phone, i ask her for her name, she says just call me Al Capone, she hits a hard right nearly smashed into a pole, the cops rolled up and she stepped down and hit 120 down the road.
my head starts spinning, thought i'd black out fo sho, thoughts going crazy in my mind voice saying this chick is crazy you know, but there's something about her she reminds me of me, young and reckless feeling immortal like "nothing could ever hurt me."
we stop up at a bar and get a couple of drinks, then couple hours later we in the back of her car fixing a couple of kinks, though she dont sound like a cop car i swear to god shes a freak, we rolling around on the seats not caring who could possibly see.
i finally make it home, laid down and fell asleep, thoughts coming to an ease, dreams pulling me in deep, now im gone in the night didnt even need to count sheep.
