Gone Too Soon

Driving along down the street

two vehicles are about to meet.

Speeding and drunk, he has no control

over the tragedy that is about to unfold.

They never saw one another

until it was already over.

The woman frantically looks around her

to see that her son and mother are alive

but her ten year old daughter sitting next to her

never had the chance to survive.

The sweet little girl was killed on impact.

Ten years later, we are still struggling to accept that.

The length of her life may have been rotten

but remember she’s only gone, never forgotten.
