The Good and The Bad of Having a Family
Dear Family,
I remember thinking I’d know what I’d be,
A daughter, cousin, or grandchild who the family would love a lot,
But that native child has changed you see,
For she realized that her family’s definition of family was not as she had first been taught,
They supported and tore down each other while always acting carefree,
They forced eachothers to fit into their narrow-minded views which many people bought,
When I realized this I ended up being so distraught.
You know I faintly remember a dream from somewhere tucked away my mind,
With a lovely young couple who fell so madly in love with one another,
Yet the girl’s family kept her confined,
She thoughts they would know what is best for her so she left him because of her mother,
As time passed she grew cold and unkind,
She grew obsessed with his memory knowing there would be no other,
In her last breaths she cried in grief for she had lived a life in which she had lost herself and her other half because she was so blind.
I know you guys mean well,
I really do,
But the way you go about it is hell,
I wish that one day you will be like I once knew,
Where you won’t try to keep me trapped in a cell,
And understand my view,
You know this was really hard to tell,
So could you just pretend everything is not true,
Family you’re my love, my life and that’ll always be,
So please just support me!
My best regards,
