Good Enough
Dear Dad,
I’m tired of lying.
I’m tired of trying.
I say that I’m fine, but there’s something I’m hiding.
When I think about it, a part of me is dying.
I just want be good enough, but I can’t it, it’s rough.
Whenever I think of you, I’m filled with this attitude.
I know that I know you, but do you know me?
If you looked hard enough, you’d see the angel you want me to be.
But you’re blind to my side,
So it’s simply, completely, impossible.
Do you know that I try?
So hard that it makes me cry.
But, when I see rainbow,
You see only rain
If this storm going on, I’m not sure I can see you again.
I just want to be good enough, but I can’t handle it, it’s rough.
Whenever I think of you,
I’m filled with this attitude.
I know that I know you, but do you know me?
If you looked hard enough, you’d see the angel you want me to be.
But, you’re blind to my side so it’s simply, completely, impossible.
Why?
Must the sky be so high?
Whenever I reach the clouds, the rain brings me right back down.
The thunder, it hurts my skin,
But I’ll never, ever, give up again.
I know that I’m good enough, to handle all this stuff
Whenever I think of you, I get this attitude
It makes me believe
That I can be, that long-standing tree
I’ve lived through the storm,
I’m a little worn,
But I won’t let go
I can survive a tornado.
Farewell,
Madison
