Good Things Gone Bad

the way the waves sound

when they are crashing onto

the rocks

the way a vase sounds

when crystal shatters onto

the floor

the way he looks when he sees

her across the room

his chest growing tight

the way she tries half-heartedly

not to look in his direction because

of fear of appearing too “desperate”

the way strangers look at each

other with puppy dog eyes when

they first meet

the way their voices creates

an image of fists and screams

causing you too cringe

the way the papers rip

and the photos tear

the way i miss you

and the way you woo her.
