A Good Time

I don’t have a problem, I’m just having fun

Don’t you remember what it’s like to be young?

Don’t worry about me, I’m having a good time

It’s one little rail, it’s just one glass of wine

But now those white lines become bigger and bigger

Just one little drink turned to a bottle of liquor

Its 4 in the morning, the full moon is glowing

It should be time for bed, but I keep going and going

Until my palms are sweaty, and body is shaking

Vision turned blurry, and my chest is aching

Why did I do this, God please make it end

Do I need to find help? The fear’s creeping in

When will it stop? I’m counting each minute

If I could just sleep, if I had just known my limit

I will do better I promise, I swear it

This is so scary, please make it quit

Trembling and quaking, the night turned to blackness

Prayers answered; I woke up filled with gladness

I must keep my promise I must do much better

I went back to school, I became a go-getter

I’m happier, I’m smarter, I’m older and wiser

I have dreams and goals and I’m aiming much higher

I’ve grown up and glowed up both inside and out

I guess these experiences is what life is about.
