The Good Year

Year 2016 was a good year

Just started 9th grade

Just begun a new adventure

Trying new things, stepping out of my comfort zone

Year 2016 was a good year

Making new friends

Trying to figure out who I am

I am stepping out of the nest

Opening my wings for the first time

Not aware of what lies under me,

Not sure whether I will be able to fly

Or will I crash

Year 2016 came and went

And before I knew it it was 2017

I kinda figured out who I am

Or at least I thought I did

But are we ever sure who we are

We are always changing

New things are always happening

People you thought were your friends turn into lions

You become the prey

They hunt you down

You are tested

Will you pass or will you fail

If you do what they want you will pass with the lions

You become part of the pack

But also if you pass, what are you passing?
