A Good Year

It’s been a good year this year

From the beginning when the sparks went off

The first words were uttered when the clock struck

Then the sound of all the cheering stopped

The first day it rains down with good luck

Its been a good year this year

From the first toasts to the smeared makeup

Sit around and watch the taxi cabs go

When the city streets all wake up

Walk down a road covered in snow
