Goodbye
A stranger I didn’t trust or show compassion,
Who put up with my hate and sick sense of sarcasm.
A guy that believed and ignored my insecurities,
Who made me see beauty of the ugly parts of me.
A man to pat me on my back and never walk away,
Who showed me the way night or day.
A leader who I could learn from and sought to admire,
Who woke me up for practice to enter freezing cold water.
A teacher who taught me skills I didn’t think I needed for my life,
Who showed me when to admit when I am wrong and when I am right.
A mentor I can rely on for advice and count on to be there for me in the middle of the night,
Who taught me to have faith in myself even when I was laking.
A coach that pulled me aside and asked me about my life,
Who gave a damn about me even when he when he was pressed for time.
A friend who never failed to put a smile on my face after a long day,
Even when his horrible swim sets made me want to run away.
A brother who I miss so much who I was lucky enough to meet in my life,
A stranger that accepted me even through my strife.
A guy that believed in me every step of the way,
A man that put a smile on my face everyday.
A leader who taught me to listen and be respective,
A teacher and mentor that gave me advice and different perspectives,
And a coach that has proved that my problems aren't just electives.
A friend that I cried to say goodbye to,
A brother who I hope has his life together and getting through.
I wish him the best and hopes he remembers,
The boys life he changed now and forever
