Goodbye
Goodbye.
Heartwarming goodbye song,
Ringing in our ears.
Very emotional.
Warm hugs and kisses.
Words of good luck and blessings.
One more hug.
Goodbye.
It happened so fast.
Why didn’t you tell me?
Why didn’t you tell us?
It was the l a s t day.
The last afternoon.
How was I to know we were
N e v e r
Going to see you again?
You Mama Asylumdown,
Have been the spine that holds
Our one big family together.
Under the mango tree,
Telling stories.
By your bedside,
Cracking jokes.
Your death hit us hard like a ton of bricks.
But, as much as we hate to know it,
You’re gone.
Now that you are gone,
Only God can hold us together
The way you did.
Oke whoo
Even in a few languages,
It is never enough to express
Our gratitude and pain.
But all we can say is, whose nehi
Mama Asylumdown.
Whosi nehi.
