Goodbye

I will never forget your expression,

You seemed so sad,

So lost and confused.

I will not forget how different you looked,

All of your hair gone,

And all the bandages wrapped tightly around you.

And I will never forget the smell,

The stench of burnt,

Rotting flesh.

I will never forget my last words to you,

“I’m sorry.“

“I love you.”

Then you were gone.
