Goodbye

As a child I adored you.

You were my guardian angel,

and my superwoman.

You protected me from everything,

sheltering me from all that was evil.

And then, as time went on,

I became more distant.

As a teenager, I pushed you away.

And now that I look back at the years,

I wish I could relive them all over again.

But now, it’s my time to leave.

To explore the world,

and live the life you wanted me to live.

You will always have a place in my heart,

and I am so grateful to call you, my mother.
