Goodbye Shandon High

Snapshots of my childhood memories fill my mind

I see myself going down the slide with

Two ponytails hanging down my face.

I see my classmates running in a circle

While others sit on the grass

Waiting to get patted on the head as we play duck duck goose.

And at the blink of an eye,

I wake-up to see my childhood vanish before me.

Now that the day has come, I can feel my eyes begin to water.

I never had the chance to say goodbye to my childhood and

I stand here today not wanting to say goodbye to high school.

But as I leave this campus where I've learned laughed and most of all matured,

I take with me many memories that have made this place feel like home.

I will never forget the times I spent with my dearest friends.

The days we remembered our failures with laughter,

Those days I will cherish the most

Because I know it’ll take time until we meet once again.

I will always carry those memories within me

No matter how old we each grow

Or how far away we are from one another.

It’s the little things that I’ll remember most of all

As I continue my journey elsewhere, never forgetting about

                                                                  My home, Shandon High.
