Goodnight

shimmering

grass enveloping

next to

you & i

forever and a day

growing

just like the river

a small reminder

a presence

of what might have been

no longer

no more

not for us

too early?

the sun is setting

meeting the river

staining

turning to fire

the bridge

turning

my hands are burnt

but pain has left

leaving

the grass

eyes like stars

on water

a bridge

ashes

& you
