goodnight

goodnight, goodnight,

I won't see you tonight,

goodnight, goodnight,

for the rest of your life,

your smiles will turn to a frown,
your life has turned upside down,
the trees will fall and crumble,
your world will fall and tumble,

but you mustn't fret,
well, at least not yet,
because I will come back for you,

you'll wake from your dream one day, someday,
I'll be able to say you're okay,
the sun will rise,
and so will the sky,
along with your fear-filled life.

the trees will grow,
and by then you will know,
that your dream ended long ago.

so instead of goodnights and your dreams filled with fright,
I'll tell you that it will be alright...
