Goodnight Moon

Today you listened to that song

that I showed you 2 years ago on the couch as you fell asleep

in my arms slowly breathing as still as night

Goodnight Moon

you were the moon forever after that

Today you listened to that song

but you are with him

do you listen to it now because of him

or me

i get too inflated

or maybe just infatuated

with the idea

that maybe

you are forced to carry me around in your sky

overhanging with a watchful eye

Like I have had to carry you

every night as the stars start to peek through

Goodnight moon

you were the moon forever after that

Goodnight moon

Goodnight Molly
