Goodnight Moon

The sky was beautiful tonight

But I wasn't

There was darkness

There was pain

There was fear

The darkness has always been there

The pain comes and goes but it come more often now

The fear comes from knowing that I have no idea what will happen

Will I break free?

Will I no longer need someone else's love?

Or will I be stuck going in circles?

The sky is beautiful

The crecent moon, a beacon of light, of hope

It's a promise that things will get better

A reminder that in the midst of all the darkness there is light

You just have to be willing to reach out into the abyss

My abyss is scary because I do not know what's in it

What will come?

Will I finally walk a straight line and end this cycle?

As I look out at the moon surrounded by darkness, I hope I can.

Years from now when I think of this moon I hope that I have made it

I look out at the moon

She is beautiful

Goodnight demons

You can't win tonight

The moon is on my side
