Goodnight Mr.Midnight

Late in the night, when darkness is stirring

He comes creeping, and slithering into your mind

Slowly consuming your hopes and your dreams

turning them to beautiful sweet nightmares it seems

Unknown to him a little girl stood fast and strong

She knew of his tricks and plights for her soul

She fought hard and long  unwavering in glare

Her cuts and her scars  only there in her mind

But she felt all the pain the same and still carried on

For she held fast to her promises and dreams of the light

Goodnight Mr.Midnight and please don't return for I will still be the same

Goodnight Mr.Midnight and if you return there will be hell too pay

Ever since then he rarely returns...at least that's the fairytale they tell you.

But me I know he comes every night

And every night I fight Mr.Midnight

And when the morning comes again Goodnight Mr.Midnight won't see you again.
