Goodnight My Friend

I wish that you could stay up longer

So we could talk and maybe ponder

The things that have happened to us

The reason why, we lost touch

I wish you wanted to stay up longer

So we could talk and maybe ponder

The reason why you want to sleep

The things that make you think so deep

I wish that you would listen to me

And maybe even once believe

That it is not time to sleep

Tomorrow you won’t feel so weak

I know you want to go to bed

So I will say Goodnight My Friend
