Goodnight My Life

Light drowns as nocturnal winds batter Ocean.

Her water cries,

Her children shriek-

But tacit she remains.

Small bird flies high above her face-

Elated only when the salt fills Air.

Tonight’s the night the occurrence occurs,

Callusing bird and taunting him so.

He sees himself dance on smooth glass-

And then watches as it breaks.

Wings catch wind-

Quiescent no more.

Away away away until

Darkness fills his eyes.

August replaced with Fear and Anger

Himself his own worst nightmare.

Into hiding once again

Clandestine forever

He parts his love for the last time-

“Goodnight I’ll see you never.”
