THE GOSPEL

They waltz up to you Good great best friends With a million dollar fake smile Sweet as old little Judas' kiss Only unlike Jesus you never tell Naive silly you confidently confides No sooner and you hear the gospel out there Gospel with just as many authors as versions All are christians and your gospel their testimony So fluent on their tongues its heavenly Come one come all the crusade grows Take a sip and thou shall never thirst Its all divine gossip you can't miss And that's how crucifixion gently begins But still unlike Christ you won't ressutect to tell the tale The walk to Golgotha gets weary, too weary Your larger than eternity cross on your unforgiven bare shoulders They strip you naked and gamble on your future An unbearable crown of shame glittering on your hung head Your mouth is forced shut not to sip on the bitter herbs While double edged spear cuts through your ribs of dignity Finally a shell of your former glory is all there is The background loud whispers can't allow you a day of tranquility The ghosts increase their night visitations And on the wall you dream of two angels, life and death LIVE OR DIE We all know which angel succeeds....
