The Gossip Files: Education

I’m here to state a proclamation That should be heard throughout the nation. This is not a play of words for truth and love, But about how education helps one reach the stars above. If we cherish education like it was the soul It would be like the greatest treasures: Silver, platinum, and gold. High school should never be taken lightly. College?! Not even slightly. Individuals who disregard the opportunity of education and fail Become spiteful “dream killers” in their own mental jail. They know that success is the best revenge That’s why they bring you down until you also fail. They try to trash your relationship; Perhaps break your marriage up They cannot stop your dreams So they assassinate your character. Let core values, learning, and knowledge run your life Let your skills and experience save you from strife Just remember one thing that Nelson Mandela once said Allow his statement to ring inside your head: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

I really appreciate you taking the time to read and share my poem! I'm glad someone finds merit in it. I'll be sure to look at some of your work if you post any. Quick question: What is Advanced Via Individual Determination?

I shared this poem with my AVID (Advanced Via Individual Determination) teacher. She was so amazed at the wording and asked me to let you know that you did an amazing job. Keep the work up (: I also enjoyed the poem, it seriously made me think.
