Got Any Change?

I am standing on the corner begging for change
Change for food
Change that could bless my life
I need change of all sorts
It’s wintertime
I don’t have a dime and I’ve lost all wits about myself
Long ago
I was stronger tho
Felt like I could take on the world
But yet
The world has began to swallow me whole

It’s cold
I’m in Chicago
My tears are forming into icicles
Give me a chance
Give me change

Give me a taste of a better tomorrow
To get rid of my sorrow
My heart is hollow
And I’m looking for a way out
From day unto night
I am screaming for change
Pleading with the people
Hoping they’d feel my pain
This world is cruel and I am going insane
Just… Give me change.

I write poems sometimes, and I like good music.
