Grace of Grays
Gray is Grace
Let it be the gloomy day’s sorrow that falls upon my cheek
Rather than two darknesses enveloping my world at once
Allow darkness to fade as light rises from moon to sun, nothing beside
But singing never felt the uncomfortable warmth of lips
And dancing had yet to spark joy in any soul
The town knew it was mourning grace and so it did
It did so for her, only her, gray
An offering of grace never thought entirely through
Yet she felt alone in her own presence
In her displeasure they sparked an uncontrollable pain
An uncontrollable gray and they named it grace
It took away feelings and the emotion lingered nevermore
Every purity turned to grace and for this she was adored
And because your presence no longer holds her own hands
She stays in gray
A non radiant grace
