Gradually Sinking

Without you here for comfort the nights have became even longer.

The voices have became stronger.

The lights are becoming dimmer.

My faith is has drawn shorter.

I sleep to drown the hope of you coming back to me.

I have dreamed and begged for you, but you’re never any closer.

I send my thoughts, letters, and silent wishes but received no answers.

Yet I still pray your messages are a little late in delivery but are being sent in my direction.

The water took you away, far, far away.

A island of hopeless prayers and broken dreams is where your boat has led you.

Too far for me to swim because let’s admit I was never the strongest swimmer.
