From a Graduating Senior

Dear Mom,

Is it sad to think that I am leaving so soon?

What will you do without me?

Who will fill your time?

Maybe it is best not to think about it.

I know you will miss me

And I will miss you too,

But what will happen when I can’t see your joyful face every day,

When I won’t be able to be there to eat your delicious home cooked meals,

Or when I won’t be there to laugh at your jokes?

After eighteen years, the time has come

For me to venture into the beginnings of my self-discovery.

You have taken great care of me and I will never forget that,

But it is time for me to fly free,

And let life mature me into a strong woman that only being on my own can do.

I love you so much, Mom,

Please don’t let me try and grow up on my own.

I still need you.

Love you always,

Brianna
