Graduation

A small adventure it was, a mile journey. On crumbling pavement, carrying my sandals in my left hand. Barefoot, blisters forming, small cuts from tiny shards of glass, thrown to the roads. A car passes, slowly. An adventure of thinking. An adventure getting to know you. The sun falls, and we stop to stare at glistening stars. An adventure, you grabbing my hand. The moon guides us to your house among trees. In the woods. An adventure, a new adventure, meeting you. Together we can journey through tall hills, venturing like wanderers, wondering. Not thinking of the future or the past. A walking stick tied to your backpack, as you climb rocks like Tarzan. An adventure so new. Traveling the world with you.
