Graduation Day

My whole life, I ain't ever been good enough

I was forced to focus on what I lacked

Despite what I had

And treated like I was lesser.

My whole life I ain't ever been good enough

Feeling like I have to change who I am

Due to another man

In order for him to love me.

My whole life I ain't ever been good enough

Teaching me to strivefor greatness

But when I tried, they hated

And told me to try something else.

My whole life I ain't ever been good enough

Soon my incapabilities

Turned into disabilities

And I knew I could never break free.

My whole life I ain't ever been good enough

I gave everything every piece of me

Inside, I damn near let these things kill me

But, trust me, they don't wanna hear that

They just want to see that

That degree, and that check in hand.
