Grand Night

Just to express it from the heart

All of the excitement

Relief of stress

Serotonin and adrenaline rushing through my veins.

I say I had a grand evening.

Can be stressful getting ready.

Doing make up when you don't regularly wear make up.

Going to a hairdresser you have never been to before.

Transforming myself into someone I don't recognize.

Families taking pictures

And the anxietyt of meeting new people

And figuring out who to go with.

Especially when you're with a military man.

Finding your friends in  a huge crowd being such a relief.

Starting from the beginning of the night

To the start of morning

Dancing like there's no tomorrow.

Everyone having a good time.

Dressed as if a ball, so elegant.

Several hours of pure dancing.

After a long day of getting ready and dancing the night away

Waffle House pulls through at 1 a.m.

A double stack with cheesy eggs.

Being taken home in the rain

running up my steps to tell my family everything

I step on the bottom of my dress

and tear my dress.

You have given me a night to remember.
