A Grand Search for Love
Always unsure of what to feel
always doubting it'd be real
I found myself empty
where I always had plenty
where I could have the moon
in any room
and the world could speak to me of wisdom
in its kingdom
by the sea
I wanted to see
see the colors of the heavens
where many proclaimed it'd not be easily given
I wanted to know about such emotion
everyone dared try and was left in the ocean
an ocean of tears, the ones I could not understand
yet desired, yet had at hand
the things I could not touch
yet had at reach
of my heartbeats
every beat, looking for a street
where I could find the neighbor named Love
the one that was carved in my gloves
in which where the gift of the present
the present of which I thought unpleasant
I saw you
the only creature that lived in my shoes
that knew what it felt like to be in solitude
that was among the multitude
but couldn't notice what beauty
stood in its duty
to acknowledge the true meaning of those four letters
where I would reason the better
the better in what it truly was
because
I desperately searched for something that was part of me
part of my own flesh and blood, the family tree
how much I have come to cherish
what has now perished
and left me again how I was before
and even worse than foretold
that I could never have such happiness no more
that I am on the floor
begging for you to take my soul
to take control
of what was yours long ago
before you go
my whole
my soul
my loving grandmother
I wish for us to once again be with one another
