Grandfather
Droplets of rain
Thunder and screams
Something in me was insane
Thinking what could it be
What could happen today
Misery just Nay
A dewy smell, wrapping my nose
Warning me, as if to say
Your senses today will be enraged.
The leafs and the trees,
The sky and the breeze
The clouds heavy and sagging-
As if threatening to tear
What could’ve happened,
Today?
Searching for my keys,
To the door of mysteries
Quietness, screamed.
Enveloping me
In its sheet,
It felt cold,
frighteningly familiarly
Cold.
It just hung in the air,
As I walked up the stairs
To the faces of my parents,
Ones I have never seen before
Just what could've happened!
Today.
Their salty tears,
Ran across their cheeks,
Smearing my thoughts,
Ever so fraught
The voices in me grew..
Louder.
Angrier.
What could've happened today?
Death slapped me, across my face
You had to realize,
It said.
I'm mighty, I’m dread!
It slapped me across my face
I am the one you forgot,
But didn't you hear?
I don't know what's time,
Whose young whose old
I only know mere names
And crimes I shall acclaim
Who?! I screamed
My lungs aching
My heart quivering
And when it felt like as if
the whole world might’ve just collapsed
A silent tear
Slowly sliced my cheek
Pure agony
Is what I feel.
Grandfather,
What could’ve happened…
Today?
