Grandmother

Her life was in a state

of dilapidation

Her biography was written

in with crossed out lines

and circled words

The binding loose

and ripped,

sat broken

and forgotten

with misused pages

torn

And yet,

she carried on

To teach

her granddaughter

we can write our own stories

Make it a good one.
