A Grandmother's Touch

Thu, 06/27/2019 - 23:48 -- bri0821

someone i loved
someone who loved me
someone who gave the sweetest hugs
someone who wanted nothing more than for me to succeed

one of my greatest supporters
as she happily watched countless games
always asking me about my class standing
forever encouraging me to get that A

someone i could trust
thankfully so
as i rarely stopped talking
so much did she know

someone to mend a hungry stomach
as she was always ready to eat
asking & suggesting in the same breath, "Red Lobster?"
"it's my treat"

someone to gossip with
as she loved to know the details
never would i hear a negative word
as she engaged in the multitude of tales

someone i adore
& aspire to resemble
as she was a friend to all
& and the quintessential grandma

someone i will miss dearly
in every single way
yet i take comfort in the fact
that i will see her again some day
