The grass doesn't grow here anymore

Early November, the crumbs of the leaves

Stretch from the sidewalk to the metal fence

Wrapped around the corner of a field

The wind passes by the strangers that leave

Winter is about to commence

The rain storms broke trees that have yet to be healed

We didn’t do a thing wrong

A kid that is unhappy has a hard time moving along

Head hung low and constantly humming sad songs

The tender heart will be sore

Yet the fate in the shooting stars will soar

This love doesn’t feel like it did before

The grass doesn’t grow here anymore
